The Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry provides outstanding education within a research

The Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry is the largest Faculty on the Western University campus and employs over 2,000 part-time and full-time faculty and over 1,500 staff.
The Department of Family Medicine specializes in training comprehensive family physicians and future leaders in family medicine. This is done through a highly adaptable program that includes tailor-made curriculum and educational programs for residents.
The Centre for Studies in Family Medicine (CSFM) is an interdisciplinary team of investigators, research, and administrative staff recognized nationally and internationally as leaders in family medicine and primary health care research.
The CSFM's research is based on the principles of patient-centred care, and takes place in three contexts: clinical care; the community; and the health care system.
Responsibilities:
The Research Assistant will support the research activities for quantitative projects with the Lifestyle Research Team, in adherence with ethics protocols and guidelines.
The incumbent will assist in the dissemination of research results arising from these projects, as well as perform quantitative data processing and analysis.
As well, the incumbent will be involved in grant reports, manuscripts, and preparation of other documents as necessary. This position requires a balance of autonomous, self-directed work as well team-work.Qualifications:
- Education:
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant area of focus
- Experience:
- 1 year of work experience supporting research in a related technical field
- Skills, Abilities & Expertise:
- Detail-oriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
- Ability to employ a systematic and efficient approach to work
- Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, students and the public
- Ability to collect and analyze data in an objective manner
- Familiarity with regulations and guidelines governing research
- Familiarity with methods for research design, implementation, and analysis
- Familiarity with experimental design and analysis
- Computer skills with the ability to learn and use software programs
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve department goals
- Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to document technical information
