Social Media Coordinator, RBC Wealth Management Canada Marketing

What is the opportunity?


As a Social Media Coordinator with the RBC Wealth Management Canada marketing team, you'll play an integral role in developing and managing our social media presence across of our line of business, as well as that of individual advisors.


Working closely with the Senior Manager, Brand, you'll own and execute social media campaigns for the RBC Wealth Management Canada field including crafting compelling copy and visual assets that helps to tell our story.

You'll work alongside the Senior Manager, Content Marketing to develop our social media content calendar and be responsible for leveraging our proprietary content into engaging posts.

Lastly, you'll collaborate with our social media team, consulting advisors on creative best practices.

With your creative and analytical skills, you have the ability to leverage client insights and business data to help deliver an innovative approach to messaging, content, and creative assets.


What will you do?

  • Stay connected with key stakeholders across our marketing and communications teams to understand our business priorities as it helps inform storytelling efforts
  • Own the creation of campaigns, including post copy and design, working alongside our inhouse creative agency to create assets when needed
  • Establish an ongoing social media content calendar in collaboration with the Senior Manager, Content Marketing
  • Help position RBC Wealth Management Canada as an industry leader through effective social media storytelling
  • Define the most important campaign KPIs, monitor performance against KPIs, and provide ongoing recommendations to ensure optimal performance
  • Champion latest trends and industry best practices in social media across our WMC Marketing Team
  • Assist our social media team in developing creative strategies for social media platforms newly introduced to RBC Wealth Management Canada
  • Ensure all work and content is of highest quality and reflects RBC brand standards

What do you need to succeed?

Must have

  • Postsecondary education in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
  • 35 years of demonstrated _social media_ and community _management_ experience building authentic engagement with users
  • Excellent copywriting and communication skills: when it comes to writing copy for social, you understand how to use the magic of words to quickly convey key concepts, always keeping things snappy and on brand
  • Strong understanding of the financial services industry and consumer sentiment, complemented by ongoing efforts to stay abreast of developments
  • Proven track record of planning and managing media campaigns and clearly communicating progress and results
  • Skilled in project management; exemplary organizational skills with a keen eye for detail, excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • Businessminded with a passion for digital marketing

Nice to have

  • Experience with design programs (such as Canva, Adobe, or Figma, etc.)
  • Experience with serving clients in wealth management
  • Fluent in French (reading, writing, conversation)
  • Experience collaborating with an SEM manager on writing and testing SEM ad copy and campaigns to continually improve performance and align to brand ideals
