The Opportunity:

Our client operates in the western Canadian industrial sector, specializing in process equipment, instrumentation, and components used across various industries such as food & beverage, oil and gas, water and wastewater, among others. They are a reputable stocking distributor for a range of products including pumps, flow meters, sensors, controllers, heat exchangers, homogenizers, and more.

By providing value-added solutions and expertise, they play a significant role in meeting the needs of their diverse clientele.

We are currently assisting them in the recruitment of an Outside Sales professional tasked with nurturing client relationships and sealing deals, particularly focusing on clientele with Sanitary Process Equipment needs. This role revolves around the food and beverage sector, offering pumps, valves, mixers, installation services, and related products.

The package includes competitive compensation, RRSP matching, benefits, and the chance to contribute to a small yet expanding team.

Candidates from Alberta and the Lower Mainland, BC will be considered for this position.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Collaborating closely with internal sales, applications, and management to deliver top-notch customer service and address customer requirements effectively
  • Identifying customer needs and presenting the most efficient and innovative solutions
  • Gaining insight into customers' manufacturing processes to ensure system configurations align with their specific operations
  • Generating leads to nurture business connections
  • Equipping internal sales teams with the necessary information to create precise, comprehensive quotations within set deadlines
  • Engaging with manufacturers and suppliers to stay informed about product enhancements or modifications

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in outside sales within the process equipment sector
  • Preferably holds a diploma or degree in marketing or business management
  • Demonstrates an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Proficient in computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with process instrumentation technology (flow, level, pressure, etc.)
  • Shows a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and professionalism
  • Possesses exceptional interpersonal and teamwork abilities
  • Skilled in prioritization, multitasking, and decision-making
  • Proficient in English communication, both verbal and written
  • Basic mathematical proficiency
