What is the Opportunity?:


Operating within the Performing Arts Division, this position works closely with operations, box office, and security to ensure patron satisfaction, comfort and safety.

Reporting to the Front of House Manager, this position will exhibit passion for the arts, a friendly personality and will uphold the standards of the department and mandate of the company.


Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Recognize all opportunities where you can provide exemplary patron service to all customers and clients using the services of the TELUS Centre.
  • Actively participate in the culture of the building by developing a keen interest in its many components.
  • Coordinate Front of House functions such as temperature scanning, patron seating, program distribution, lobby displays, and upkeep.
  • Direct and manage patrontraffic to maintain safe and effective flow in all public areas.
  • Remain current and uptodate with all Health and Safety Procedures, Emergency Preparedness, Fire Safety and issues of Accessibility.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of events and services available in and around the Centre to be able to expertly respond to patron and client inquiries.
  • Communicate and enforce house policies with respect to masking, distancing, late calls, cameras/recording devices, etc.
  • Monitor quality of stage sound, auditorium temperature, the physical space (seats, floors, railings) and report deficiencies to your supervisors.
  • Other related duties as required.

Job Requirements:

What We're Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a fastpaced and busy environment. Experience in a performing arts venue is considered an asset.
  • Strong problem solving and decisionmaking skills, coupled with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer service orientation and the ability to deal effectively with situations requiring diplomacy, tact, friendliness, and firmness.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • An avid interest in the arts is considered a significant asset.

Additional Information:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Availability is required primarily during evenings and Sunday afternoons, 23 shifts a week.
