Your New Role and Team
Sanctuary AI–a multi award-winning LinkedIn Top Startup company- is looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer.

Reporting to the Cognitive Platform Lead, you'll gain a comprehensive understanding of our platform's design, architecture, and implementation that power our general-purpose robots.

The ideal applicants for this position enjoy systems thinking, are eager to learn, and are willing to develop technical skills while gaining valuable industry experience.

Ultimately, you'll be a valued part of the team as you learn and adapt to new, complex development environments, own solutions from design and execution through to deployment and support, and innovate best practices that drive continuous improvements in our robotic systems.

Build, deploy, and monitor operations of the component subsystems, ensuring that all segments work together with high performance and reliability.

Write, debug, and maintain robust software for the humanoid robot software stack.
Design and implement efficient and reliable communication mechanisms to enable seamless integration between different parts of the system.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support a fleet of general-purpose robots and ensure smooth deployment and maintenance of the software.

Develop and iterate on new functionalities and test through simulation and on-hardware execution.

Achieve company-wide visibility as you partner with leaders to ensure smooth deployment and configuration, provide technical support to end users, and structure and keep technical documentation updated.

Act as a mentor and provide guidance to team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
Your Qualifications & Skills
Qualifications
Over 8 years of software development experience, including practical work in software applications development; technical experience with robotic systems preferred
Knowledge of professional engineering practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source management, testing, and continuous integration and deployment
Fluency with C++, Python, Java, or equivalent
Experience with distributed systems, microservice architecture, and cloud platforms.
Proficiency in designing and developing GraphQL and REST APIs
Experience with messaging queues and event-driven architectures (e.g. Apache Kafka, RTI DDS)
A track record of technical excellence and successful projects under minimal supervision
Skills
In-depth knowledge of system architecture assessments, integrated design, software, support equipment, installation of subsystems, and experiments to ensure that relevant safety requirements are met
Systems engineering, integration, and root cause analysis skills for system issues
Strategic thinker with an architectural mindset, adept at balancing short-term and long-term needs
Excellent organizational and process documentation skills
Ability to design, implement, and test in a fast-paced environment

Entry-rate

Annual Salary:
$120,000 CAD and up

Compensation:
At Sanctuary AI, we provide above average total compensation that includes three components: salary, equity, and benefits.

Our goal is to ensure fairness in pay and we strive to make the overall package highly competitive with current market rates.


Equity:
Equity will play a significant role in the total compensation for this role.

Our goal is to provide a generous equity compensation package, exceeding what is typically offered by companies of our size.

The specific amount of equity will be communicated to candidates upon receiving an offer.

The compensation and benefits details provided for this role in Vancouver, BC are based on Sanctuary AI's market evaluation and may be subject to changes in the future.

Your pay within the specified range will depend on various job-related factors, such as your past work experience, relevant education, and performance during interviews or work trials.

Salary minimum provided is an entry-level rate for this role, as a requirement of the Pay Transparency Act in British Columbia.
