The Steps to Enhance Personal Success (STEPS) Program is tailored to students with severe to profound developmental disabilities. The focus is on building communication skills within a safe and structured setting, with special accommodations as needed.
  • Key Duties/Responsibilities
  • Educational Assistants (EAs) support teachers in various instructional and non-instructional tasks, working closely with students.
  • EAs implement individualized learning programs, offer personal care, and provide extra support based on student requirements.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent
  • First Aid certification desirable
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training mandatory
  • Minimum one year of relevant experience
  • Courses in special needs education a plus
  • Demonstrated Skills and Competencies
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Collaborative and reliable team player
  • Comfort with technology to support student learning
  • Respect for diversity and ability to handle challenging situations
  • Flexibility in assignments and willingness to assist with personal care tasks
