Job Summary


Canadian National (CN) is seeking an accomplished Account Manager to identify and pursue opportunities with both new and existing customers to sell Consumer Products.

A large part of selling at CN is asking customers the right questions in order to understand their transportation needs and match these to CN's service delivery capabilities.

Dynamic and creative, you demonstrate active listening skills, enabling you to effectively carry out the role of Account Manager.

To achieve success, the incumbent will need to stay abreast of competitive developments in your customers' markets and pursue opportunities for growth.


Main Responsibilities

  • Manage all commercial aspects of a portfolio of several key customers
  • Develop account growth strategies for customers and maintain existing relationships
  • Deliver yearly revenue and price targets as set out by the company
  • Collaborate with operations personnel to identify available capacity for opportunistic selling to improve overall yield/asset utilization
  • Crosssell the full suite of CN transportation services
  • Proactively address any potential service issues with operations personnel
  • Develop a reliable monthly revenue and volume forecast
  • Contract renewals and regular negotiations

Working Conditions

  • Travel within North America

Requirements:

Experience
Sales or marketing experience in transportation and logistics services

  • Minimum 5 years of sales or marketing experience, preferably gained in transportation and logistics services
  • Major contract negotiations experience

Education/Certification/Designation

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Marketing, Finance or Business Administration, or possess an equivalent designation
