JOB SUMMARY:


Friends Housing Inc a not for profit organization dedicated to providing safe, affordable and supportive housing for persons who have a chronic mental illness and for low-income families within our community.

This job provides support for the residents with a mental illness.

We seek a personable Activity worker who will assist and support our residents with a mental illness. Responsibilities include organizing monthly activities; such as cooking classes, painting, etc. This individual will also accompany our residents on outings using our company vehicle.

You are a creative and resourceful person who can independently teach and provide our residents with daily living skills while also ensuring a safe work environment.


Preference will be given to applicants who have previous experience working with the mentally disabled or have an equivalent combination of training and education.

A valid class 5 driver's license is required and CPR certification is preferred. You must be able to pass a criminal records and abuse registry check. You must also have excellent English verbal and written communications skills. Most importantly, you are a team player with a positive friendly attitude.

Looking for someone who is looking for casual work/part time 10 hours a week. Saturdays (10-3pm) and Sunday (10-3pm) or Saturday (10-3pm) and Monday (1-6pm).

Training will be provided before working on own.
