WellFort is seeking a Full Time Contract Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Manager to join our leadership team. (Immediate until June 30, 2024, with possibility of extension)
WellFort Community Health Services is a non-profit, values-based organization based in Peel.

The EDI Manager will work in collaboration with the WellFort leadership team to create and implement a structured EDI and anti-racism strategy aimed at increasing internal capacity to address systemic barriers and health disparities across the region.

They will work cross functionally in partnership with other departments and implement initiatives that support the overall organizational strategy, vision, mission and values and drive required culture, behavioral and systemic changes.

The role will build and uphold relationships with key external partners to ensure our clients and their families receive integrated, high quality and safe services.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work collaboratively with WellFort leadership team, staff, and community partners to develop and implement a thorough EDI strategy that is aligned with WellFort's mission, vision, and values.
  • Translate strategic goals into practical actions.
  • Take a lead role in WellFort's antioppression committee.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the organization in the provision of EDI, antiracism and antioppression initiatives and learning opportunities.
  • Research and create a structured evaluation of EDI-R initiatives to assess for organizational culture change, increasingly culturally responsive care, and greater health outcomes for WellFort clients and staff
  • Provide the knowledge and skills needed to design and deliver training that builds capacity and understanding of priorities such as diversity, inclusion, equity, and cultural competency.
  • Manage and maintain equity, diversity, and inclusion analytics and evaluation tools in collaboration with others as appropriate to continuously evolve and improve programs and opportunities
  • Support and strengthen practices within WellFort to collect data and assess the needs of the community we serve (Sociodemographic data collection etc.)
  • Build relationships and work with internal clients and stakeholders to develop insight and understanding into the organization′s unique needs, opportunities, and constraints.
  • Design, develop, promote, deliver, and evaluate EDI education and ensure that staff training is responsive to the needs of our diverse communities served.
  • Works closely with HR on recruitment inclusive strategies and policy revision/development.
  • Participate in external committees as appropriate (i.e., OHT, CRT ABR and systemic discrimination, etc.).
  • Develop and monitor EDI metrics and identify risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct audits of related policies, programs, procedures, and processes to identify systemic bias, and/or other potential areas of focus.
  • Participate in and support preparation for Accreditation.
  • Other related duties/projects as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Certification or completion of an EDI program with an accredited organization
  • Lived/Living and/or professional experience with Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
  • Experience leading antiracism/ antioppressive (AR/AO) strategies and practices in health and/or social service settings.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing positive change in the field of inclusion, diversity, equity and social responsibility
  • Minimum 2 years experience working in a leadership and/or project management role.
  • Proven background/experience displaying positive outcomes in change management.
  • Thorough understanding and working knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Anti-Racism Act
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational and project management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in group facilitation, facilitating organizational change and transition, team, or group dynamics, and organizational assessments
  • Demonstrated ability to assist stakeholders with concern and empathy, along with respecting their confidentiality and privacy and communicating in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Skilled at attending to matters that require sensitivity and empathy across a diverse population
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse and fast paced environment.
