The EFry Hope and Help for Women provides residential programs and reintegration supports to women and girls experiencing conflict with the law, mental health and addiction issues, chronic homelessness and gender-based violence.

The Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe, healthy, and effective provision of services and ensures that the program operates and is administered in accordance with policies and procedures as mandated by funding bodies, applicable legislation, and EFry Hope and Help for Women's policy and procedures.

Furthermore, the Manager is responsible for the guidance and supervision of the Assistant Manager, Program Coordinator's, front
- line caseworkers, as well as, ensuring that programming and service provision is relevant, meaningful, and provides effective support for girls accessing services. The Manager directly reports to the Managing Director and works collaboratively with the Leadership Team in managing the day-to-day operations of its programs.


In this role, the successful incumbent will manage the provision of crisis intervention, counselling, education regarding residential options in the community, and referral services to women and in need.

Moreover, the Manager will provide direction, support and policy with respect to case management, management of residential programs, and help to oversee the safety and security of the staff, clients, and volunteers.


Areas of Responsibility:

  • Oversees delivery of services to our clients through the supervision of Residential Caseworkers, placement students, and volunteers on a daytoday basis.
  • Provides formal supervision and support for Residential Coordinator and staff, including orientation and onboarding exercises, performance reviews, provision of regular supervision, professional development and maintenance of appropriate personnel documentation
  • Promotes and enhances effectives programming and case management practices that incorporate gender
- responsive and trauma-informed practices

  • Manages scheduling and personnel allocation providing consistently adequate staffing to ensure proper service provision and staff safety (approves for time off, and arranges appropriate replacement coverage (if necessary)
  • In collaboration with Human Resources, participates in recruitment and selection processes, employee relational matters, discipline, and termination.
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluations of programs, policies, and procedures in consultation with the Managing Director
  • Manages and adheres to fiscal budgets and consistently meets Agency deliverables and deadlines
  • Engages as an active participant of the leadership team and is committed to ongoing professional development in this area.
  • Ensures that services to women and girls are provided according to the policies and procedures of the residential program (e.g. health and safety, program manuals, organizational policy and procedure, applicable legislation, etc.); consulting with the Managing Director and/or Executive Director.
  • Assists in the development, implementation, annual audits and evaluation of all residential program policies and procedures.
  • Develops and nurtures relationships with existing and new community partners and stakeholders, ensuring that referrals and recommended actions are followed up with in an effective manner.
  • Ensures client files are maintained according to policies and procedures and documentation meets the required standards.
  • Participates in internal reviews, audits, and inspections of programs
  • Handles crises in accordance with relevant legislation and specified policies and procedures
  • Ensures all programming comply with all relevant legislation, professional standards, funding contracts, and health and safety standards
  • Supports inclusion and equity by respecting others, embracing diversity and addressing oppression.
  • Participates and is available on an oncall rotational schedule (after hours).
  • Monitors and reports out on financial transactions of residential programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Managing Director and/or Executive Director
  • A degree and/or diploma from a University or College in a related field with experiencing working with at
- risk and vulnerable female populations; prior supervisory experience is mandatory and required.
