Job Requirements

  • This position is eligible for the _
    _Canada Summer Jobs__ grant program.
To be eligible, youth must meet the following eligibility requirements:
_
- be between 15 and 30 years of age
at the beginning of the employment period*;
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**; and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

  • Formal academic training in planning or related studies at a University/Community College
  • Strong MS Office computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Demonstrated research skills to undertake short term research projects and support the completion of information and assist in the preparation of reports and correspondence
  • Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail, work with a high degree of accuracy and to complete work within defined timelines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to write detailed reports and speak/present information to other departments, residents and clients regarding Planning matters.
  • Must be customer service oriented and use tact and diplomacy to deal courteously and effectively with the public.
  • GIS experience an asset.
