Canadian Feed the Children ("CFTC") has an Annual Giving Operations Coordinator as a Canada Summer Jobs opening for
up to 8 weeks between July 8 and
August 30, 2024.

This summer job position offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to the success of a fundraising organization. As a member of the Annual Giving team, responsibilities include providing crucial support through research, reporting, and administrative tasks. Additionally, assisting the Supporter Services team ensures exceptional donor stewardship, fostering meaningful engagement with supporters.

Managing donor responses to an annual survey involves data entry, analysis, and report creation, while also assisting with the production of donor mailings and ensuring data hygiene within the donor database.


This position is made possible largely due to the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) grant, an initiative of the Summer Work Experience program.

One of the priorities of the program is to support employers who intend to hire youth in underrepresented groups.

Preference for this position will be given to an applicant who self-identifies as being part of an underrepresented group:

  • Indigenous youth
  • Visible minorities/ racialized youth
  • Newcomer/refugee youth

To be eligible, a participant must:

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
  • Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act _and_;
  • Be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Annual Giving team with research, reporting, process documentation and administrative tasks.
  • Help the Supporter Services team with donor stewardship and support, ensuring exceptional donor experience and engagement.
  • Manage the donor responses to an annual survey including data entry, conducting analysis of the results, and creating and sharing a detailed report.
  • Assist with the production of an annual mailing to donors.
  • Assist with data hygiene of our donor database.
  • Office administration and organization digital filing and office administrative support.
  • May also provide administrative support to other teams to contribute to overall fundraising success and perform other duties as necessary or assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Completion or enrollment in a postsecondary program
  • Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills with a strong ability to work independently and effectively with internal and external collaborators, in a variety of situations, exercising discretion and good judgement with confidential information.
  • Strong technical experience and knowledge using Microsoft Excel and other analysis tools.
  • Technical ability with MS Office suite (Word and PowerPoint) and photo editing apps
  • Competence with online video conferencing and chat platforms, especially MS Teams.
  • Ability to build rapport, effectively listen, reflect, and respond while making a valueadded contribution to CFTC.
  • An approach that is flexible, adaptive, creative and always looking for improvements.
  • Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy, ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Sound judgment and decisionmaking skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English is required and oral and written communication in French is an asset.
  • Must be able to work effectively from home, with access to internet and phone.
  • A desire to achieve our mission while having fun.
