Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Safety Officer to complete the following duties:

  • Maintain documentation consistently for the Health and Safety Program, including but not limited to creating new policies, drafting documentation, maintaining existing forms, reviewing, and filing.
  • Update and administration of the safety management system
  • Oversee internal and external audits, inspections, and investigations.
  • Develop, train, and implement all safety policies and programs, including but not limited to Emergency Response Plans, Aerial Rescue Plans, Hazard Identification, etc.
  • Support the Joint Occupation Health and Safety Committee as an active member.
  • Catalogue and advise management on all active safety incidents and investigations.
  • Support workers by providing programs and tools to make their job safer.
  • New and young worker orientation.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of OH&S principles, policies and regulations.
  • Class 5 Driver License (air brake endorsement is an asset).
  • Clean drivers abstract.
  • Combination of at least 2 years relevant work experience an asset.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and positively with crews and coworkers.
  • Organized and with high interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working in a team environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent

Salary:
$23.00-$28.00 per hour
