We are currently looking for a

Training and Compliance Specialist to join us in making vacation dreams come true.


As the Training and Compliance Specialist you will be responsible for the standardization of training across all Crew Resource departments.

This position will work closely with the Manager, Crew Resources to develop and conduct initial training courses as well as recurrent, deployment, and any other training required by positions in the Crew Resources department.

This position will ensure department compliance through regular process review and provide feedback to applicable department Managers.

The position reports to the Manager, Crew Resources and will be located in Toronto, ON.

What You'll Do:

  • Ensuring that safety is the primary objective by adhering to the Sunwing Safety Policy
  • Identify and communicate hazards and risks to the organization using the safety reporting system.
  • Participate in safety investigations when required.
  • Develop, review and update training courses:
  • Conduct training to Schedulers, Planners, Coordinators, and other positions within Flight Operations including crew.
Use innovation and creative to develop new programs and techniques for creating engaging training methods.

  • Ensuring all training plans remain complaint to the following:
  • Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs)
  • Flight Operations Manual
  • Pilot Training Manual
  • European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)
  • Flight Deck
  • Collective Agreements
  • Crew Resource Process & Procedures
  • Any other government regulation based on the company's deployed base of operation.
  • Review issues of concerns/grievances; provide responses to crew or feedback for improvement to Manager.
  • Identify and discuss common error trends and report suggestions for corrective actions.
  • Review department manuals annually to ensure compliance and standardization.
  • Review system settings semiannually to ensure compliance on various operating programs.
  • Assist Crew Resource department with continuous improvement projects as necessary.
  • Provide feedback for process, procedure, and system improvements.
  • Participate in labour investigations, formulate responses, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.

What You'll Need:

  • Thorough understanding of the Canadian Aviation Regulations relating to Airline Operations (Division III)
  • Familiar with EASA regulations pertaining to crew duty and rest regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability developing process and instructing others.
  • Technical writing experience is considered an asset.
  • 13 years experience in a similar role
  • High School Diploma
