Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring an Operations Advisor, Home & Building on a permanent basis on our Home and Building Solutions team (HABS).

This position is a hybrid opportunity that involves travel across Alberta and into BC. The position is ideally based in Edmonton, AB.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with local Coop Senior Managers to identify sales improvement opportunities, build sales action plans identifying internal and external hardware sales opportunities and coach local Coop Managers on how to execute prepared plans while achieving budgeted sales for the assigned local Coops.
  • Improve EBITDA results for the assigned portfolio, and work with Senior Leaders to, develop action plans and operational reviews addressing the locations EBITDA improvement opportunities. Also, coach team leaders on effective implementation and followup resulting in EBITDA improvement.
  • Provide recommendations on renovations, expansions, replacement and greenfield stores and work with the local Coops on designing, implementing and overseeing inside store set up, CASM selection and placement, and Grand Opening events.
  • Review image and merchandising standards, CASM selection, and store layout with local Coop Leaders and offer guidance and support towards a proper customer experience resulting in increased sales.
  • Provide feedback to Home Office regarding local market conditions, competitive pricing and marketing activity, policy and program recommendations and sales promotion ideas.
  • Approximately 60%annual travel.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and:

  • Have a minimum of 6-9 years of progressively responsible experience in retail management with direct exposure to hardware and/or building materials.
  • Have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or Marketing (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
