JOB PURPOSE

The role of a Policy Specialist offers all the above and more.

Reporting to the UK Employment Excellence Manager this role is a great opportunity to influence culture change and create an employment framework where everyone can bring their best selves to work.


Our mission as a team is to develop and enhance an innovative employment excellence framework which is competitive and relevant for our workforce of tomorrow that empowers people to perform at their best today.

We provide sound and pragmatic advice to our UKI HR community on employee relation and industrial relation matters, support organisational change initiates, development of our EDI strategy for the UK and also lead on immigration strategy and management.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing and implementing new policy requires a wide range of skills including researching the law and external market
  • Managing stakeholders, getting buyin to your ideas
  • Creating compelling propositions and working with colleagues in other teams to fully operationalize
  • Time and attention have to be taken to ensure policy offerings are clear to understand, simple to follow and aligned to Unilever's Compass values
  • Developing new and innovative policies that make Unilever a topquartile employer, existing policies will be continually maintained, ensuring they are inclusive, futurefacing and fit for purpose.
  • Develop an employment policy that enables the business to attract and retain key talent

ALL ABOUT YOU

  • A background in HR with a good knowledge of employment law
  • Great communication skills, including excellent written English
  • An analytical and enquiring mind and the ability to challenge the status quo
  • A strong challenging mindset
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Word and Powerpoint and ideally SharePoint
  • Experience of working in a large matrix organisation, ideally with exposure to shared services
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and a strong ability to network internally and externally
