Job Summary

As a Manager, Procurement you will
Tactically procure cannabis to optimize facility and commercial operations.

  • Mentor and coach procurement staff.
  • Support creation and maintenance of tools to for cost controls, supplier and product compliance
  • Develop and implement KPIs
  • Approve min / max inventory levels and forecasts.
  • Source and approve new suppliers to support existing and new product opportunities.
  • Ensure spend approvals are maintained in line with the delegation of authority (DOA) matrix.
  • Negotiate and route supply contracts to execution.
  • Support team in resolving order status exceptions, issues with supplier contract compliance, and postreceipt actions to all internal cross functional stakeholders.
  • Ensure optimized purchase order management which support production schedules, suppliers' price break points and storage restrictions.
Strategically identify cost savings opportunities and develop market insights.

  • Lead cost savings initiatives for their teams.
  • Demonstrate excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Conduct cost analysis on inbound materials and maintain optimal benchmark rates.
  • Identify and resolve risks to supply continuity.
  • Support the sourcing and qualification of suppliers.
  • Issue and manage RFQs, providing recommendations to the Manager of Procurement.
  • Build and support strong longterm relationships with suppliers.
  • Identify waste and seek opportunities for cost reduction in the supply chain.
  • Lead key initiatives as required.
Work cross-functionally with commercial, operations & QA to source and develop new materials sources.

  • This will include coordinating both the product qualifications & vendor set up activity.
  • Ensuring all cross functional team needs are recognized and met.

If would be great if you have

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or related discipline.
  • 2+ years in production or manufacturing environment would be an asset.

Bonus points if you have

  • Excellent communication, time management skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to mentor and coach direct reports.
  • Excel at working independently and with exceptional problemsolving skills
  • Ability to create and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Worked with Sage X3 or other ERP systems, Microsoft Power Bi, Smartsheet, or other analytical tools
