Regular Full-Time Human Resources Business Partner to join the team to support the implementation of people strategies that drive organizational results to attract and retain exceptional people

POSITION OUTLINE:

  • Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, Labour Relations and Organizational Development, the HUMAN RESOURCES BUSINESS PARTNER acts as a resource partner with assigned client groups to implement people strategies that drive organizational results to attract and retain exceptional people. The HR business partners work closely with leaders and managers to build capabilities, plan and manage talent, and develop approaches that achieve shared organizational objectives. The HR Business Partner is both a strategic and handson role that provides full cycle Human Resources support that ranges from recruitment, disability claims management, benefits administration, talent management support, grievance administration, CA administration, wellness, health and safety, etc.
  • The role is critical in executing our people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Degree in business administration, labour relations or related discipline from a recognized university.
  • CHRP or CHRL designation preferred.
  • Minimum of three to five years progressive experience in human resources advisory or partnership role.
  • Previous Human Resources generalist experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of human resource practices, theories, trends and legislations in order to provide professional guidance, interpret legislative requirements and monitor HR related activities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of labour relations and union contract administration.
  • Knowledge of general management and business administration practices.
  • Exceptional relationship building skills, with significant human resources expertise along with a love of business.
  • Possess a reputation for delivering results in support of strategic goals;
  • Possess strong teamorientation and ability to be flexible;
  • Strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service for client groups;
  • Strong facilitation & training, motivation, mediation, negotiation, coaching, problem solving and conflict resolution skills paired with a positive outlook
  • Possess excellent presentation and oral communication skills and have the ability to engage a wide range of audience
  • Demonstrated written communication skills to draft clear and concise correspondence and formal reports.
  • Creativity, mathematical and analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends and develop recommendations.
  • Decisionmaking and problemsolving skills to identify appropriate responses to issues or problems in the face of conflicting needs.
  • Excellent listening and reading comprehension skills in order to interpret, assess the significance of, and retain information communicated verbally and in writing.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills; good problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Discretion, judgement and ability to deal with highly confidential information, sensitive issues and emotional situations
  • Demonstrated success in establishing, leading and maintaining positive change
  • Ability to deal with multiple complex issues and manage multiple priorities
  • Selfdirected and strong collaborative skills, highly flexible and adaptable
  • Previous experience working with unionized workforce
  • Demonstrated proficiency with work processing spreadsheet and database software, including computerized HRIS.

  • Fluency in French is an asset.
