Reporting to the Manager, Strategic HR Partnerships, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will provide support, direction and consultation to leaders up to and including the executive level on a wide range of Human Resources issues.

The HRBP will be instrumental in championing corporate HR strategies and initiatives with a client group while ensuring compliance with Hospital policies and applicable legislation.

In addition to supporting leaders on employee and labour relations matters, the HRBP will provide general guidance in other areas of HR with the support and at times direct engagement of other specialized areas within HR.

The HRBP will help leaders look at their people-related challenges and opportunities holistically, and develop appropriate and comprehensive strategies in response.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or as acceptable to Hospital in conjunction with Human Resources Management Certificate
  • Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation
  • Minimum five (5) years of recent relevant experience
  • Proficient knowledge of collective agreements, labour and employment legislation
  • Problemsolving and critical thinking skills
  • Proficient knowledge of labour relations processes (e.g. grievance, mediation, arbitration and negotiation)
  • Proficient knowledge of human resource principles (e.g. progressive discipline, performance management, payroll, benefits, compensation and recruitment and selection)
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary team
  • Strong relationship management skills with experience in partnering, influencing, coaching and building credibility with managers and the human resources team
  • Strong change management skills with demonstrated ability to act as a catalyst for change within a business
  • Strong diagnostic skills and proven ability to evaluate options/alternatives and develop recommendations for complex and multidimensional problems/issues
  • Strong business acumen and issue resolution skills with the ability to deal with situations in an open, objective and flexible manner
  • Demonstrated managerial courage with a proven ability to contribute to the hospital's success by identifying and creating opportunities to improve processes, patient experience and services
  • Proactive in anticipating clients' needs and expectations in order to deliver comprehensive and highquality service
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC

  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:

  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
