About the position


Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Communications you will be working collaboratively with the communications team to execute the day-to-day communications and social media strategies that will strengthen the TFS brand and engage the TFS community.


You will responsible for the following:

  • Provide writing support, which could include social media posts, articles for the website, letters to the community, support with various publications.
  • Work closely and proactively with departments and branches across the school to create compelling and engaging content that will bring to life TFS' unique value propositions and build pride and engagement in the community. Content creation will include writing original content or requesting content, taking photos and video at various school events, or gathering photos and video from staff.
  • Help develop social media strategies to meet the school's objectives, ensuring that all channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube) and related messaging are aligned and reinforce the mission, vision, values, and pillars.
  • Develop and manage content calendar for all social media channels to support the school's mission, vision, and values.
  • Review the daily mainstream, community and social media reports and identify and assess opportunities and issues of importance to the school and its stakeholders.
  • Maintain regular KPI tracking and conduct reporting and analysis as required.
  • Assist the Marketing Communications Department in other tasks as required. These tasks may include event planning and execution, photography, organizing photo shoots, media relations, and administrative tasks.
Due to the nature of your work, you will be expected to attend events and initiatives across the campus.

Who we are looking for

  • Excellent English skills (oral and written)
  • Bilingualism considered as an asset
  • Postsecondary degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or Business. Postgraduate certificate in PR, digital or communications would be an asset
  • Experience writing professionally in English, with an understanding of how to refine communications to capture an institution's voice and tone
  • Exceptional grammatical skills are sought after in this role, with comfort in providing editing support for leaders in an organization
  • Experience using established and emerging social media channels for communication, customer service, and audience engagement, with demonstrated experience in content development, including writing for digital media
  • Experience managing social media metrics and analytics
  • An eye for detail, extremely organized and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • A selfstarter, receptive to challenges, who maintains a positive and professional attitude
  • Creative problemsolver who enjoys innovating and bringing fresh ideas to the team
  • Holds themselves to high standards of quality and accuracy

Knowledge:

  • A wordsmith who can write in English and capture the brand tone(s) and voice(s)
  • Effective writing skills including: creative writing, copyediting, and proofreading skills
  • A passion for effective storytelling
  • Comfortable creating digital content with working knowledge of major graphic design tools (i.e. Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Strong knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube as well as relevant strategies for each channel
  • Some experience taking and editing photos for social and digital use
