Overview

We're looking for an experienced
Support Assistant to join our OHS Investigations department to provide administrative and clerical assistance.

If you can assist with administrative tasks and are a detail-oriented self-starter, we want to hear from you.

In this role, you'll support the OHS Investigations department with a variety of administrative duties while working collaboratively with a close-knit team.


How you'll make a difference:
You'll help ensure B.C. workers go home safely at the end of their workday.

This is a temporary vacancy of approximately 8 months of duration.

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a
hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.

In this role, you'll work primarily from your B.C. home and occasionally in our Richmond office, as the business needs come up.

What you'll do

  • Provide administrative support to the department
  • Assist officers with inspection order reviews, incident investigation reports and penalty matters by gathering materials and information, reviewing files for completion, identifying discrepancies, and communicating with appropriate parties to complete files
  • Prepare and organize various correspondence, reports, written submissions, presentations, and documents of a legal nature that often include technical industry terminology
  • Record and distribute information from hotline calls
  • Access and maintain databases and procedure manuals
  • Undertake word processing and document editing

  • Understand and respond to stakeholders' needs in order to provide exemplary customer service
  • Clearly communicate and document detailed information, both orally and in writing, to a variety of audiences

Your background and experience

  • A minimum of grade 12 education
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • A minimum of two years of administrative support experience in an office environment
