Job description

Principal Responsibilities

  • Create and submit purchase orders to suppliers
  • Receive supplier invoices in our ERP
  • Analyze purchasing trends and make recommendations to manager
  • Conduct physical checks of inventory and rectify inventory discrepancies
  • Reduce product shrinkage by ensuring products going out of date are well managed
  • Ensure customer requested items are ordered and tracked
  • Follow purchasing procedures and all applicable laws and regulations

Skills & Education

  • Advanced software skills (MS Office, MS Excel (pivot tables), database utilization (Microsoft Navision an asset, but not required)
  • Outstanding organizational, multitasking and time management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail, numbers, and analytics
  • Ability to handle pressure in a fastpaced environment
  • Keen learner to develop thorough product knowledge
  • Exceptional communications and writing skills
  • Good interpersonal, team, and collaborative skills
  • Negotiation skills

Education & Experience

  • Formal college or university education
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of purchasing experience
