The Senior Medical Director is apracticing physician and has overall responsibility and accountabilityfor Primary Care, Urgent Care and Dermatology and for ensuring membersreceive the health care required of a federally-qualified HMO and asmandated by the GHC-SCW Board of Directors.

The Senior Medical Directorwill ensure that Practitioners feel fully engaged in both the clinicaland administrative aspects of their practices.

This position willoversee the Clinic Medical Directors to ensure excellent performance ofthe day-to-day affairs of the Primary Care, Urgent Care and Dermatologypractices and will work cooperatively with the Chief Medical Officer,the Chief Nursing and Clinical Operations Officer and the ClinicManagers as a member of an integrated management team to manage thedaily needs and operations of the Clinics.

The Senior Medical Directorserves on the Clinics Management Council (CMC) and other appropriatecommittees, as needed.

The Senior Medical Director is expected to usehis/her professional judgment at all times in relation to makingrecommendations to patients for their personal medical care.

Theincumbent knows and abides by all Group Health Cooperative of SouthCentral Wisconsin (GHC-SCW) organizational and departmental policies,sets personal standards and strives for high quality work in completingassignments, performs job duties in a timely manner, and represents theorganization in a positive manner.
