About the Role


The Demand Planner is accountable for managing the statistical inventory forecast and collaborating with the Merchandising, Finance, and Account Management teams to optimize the demand forecast that is communicated to our external partners.

This role will be responsible for implementing and managing a framework that maximizes customer service level, reducing inventory levels, improving forecast accuracy, and reducing aged inventory.

About Your Day

  • Develop statistical forecast which is used to drive purchasing decisions based on supply targets and KPIs.
  • Analyze customer provided information and sales data to calculate accurate forecasts.
  • Prepare content such as reports and metrics for Weekly forecasting and monthly Open to Buy meetings.
  • Makes recommendations to improve forecast quality based on knowledge of forecasting methodologies, statistical modelling and supply chain practices.
  • Conducts analytics to tackle business problems with whole product cycle mindset.
  • Weekly reporting on sales volume, historical sales, statistical forecast and trends.
  • Partner with cross functional teams to support the development and planning of new product introductions.
  • Support merchandising and supply chain teams with supplier facing activities, by providing supply / demand reports and inventory analysis.
  • Work with cross functional teams on product exit strategies and provide recommendations to address excess and aged product.
  • Provide necessary data and analytics to support transparent discussion and communication of risk and opportunities regarding inventory, stock and turnover.
  • Create reports on a weekly and month basis on aged inventory for cannabis and accessories and cannabis and accessory snapshot report showing the current inventory and any opportunities.
  • Identify improvement opportunities that impact operational, procedural, or financial areas.
  • Identify gaps between the execution of the sales plan and forecasts while supporting continuous improvement.
  • Provide necessary data and analytics to support transparent discussion and communication of risk and opportunities.
  • Complete Ad Hoc projects as needed for SLT regarding price changes, supply chain targets and wavering KPIs to provide metrics and further deepdown analysis.
About You

  • Post-Secondary education in Business Administration, Analytics or Supply Chain OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of professional experience in supply chain
  • 3 years working in a highly analytical role
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office suite, Power BI, Tableau or similar systems
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills to build strong business cases for change
  • Completion of Supply Chain Designation (CSCMP)
  • Great collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to manipulate data to tell a specific story and outcome
