Reporting to the Executive Director, Special Operations, you will be accountable for all aspects of the pharmacy program across the Territory, including strategic and tactical planning, policy development, resource allocation, and establishment and maintenance of standards and procedures. As Territorial Director, Pharmacy , you will set, and ensure compliance with, all policies that govern safe and effective pharmaceutical care and comply with all National and Territorial legislation and standards, along with overseeing, monitoring, and adjusting the Territorial strategic plan for the provision of pharmacy services, to ensure that the highest standards and best practices are met.
In this key role, you will provide financial reporting to the Executive Management Committee and the Assistant Deputy Minister to guide decisions on effective program changes and implementations, as well as examine and develop strategic partnerships that may result in improved financial management. You will also assess the performance of division staff and ensure that team building, training, development and progressive disciplinary actions take place when required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Your profile as a qualified Territorial Director, Pharmacy will include the following highlights:

  • A recognized Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree and a Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada Certificate, including five (5) years of recent related pharmacy management experience in an acute healthcare setting.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration as a pharmacist in Nunavut, plus licensure in good standing in one other Province or Territory.

ASSETS:

  • A Master's or PharmD from a recognized university.
  • Fluency in more than one of Nunavut's official languages (i.e., Inuktut, English and/or French).
  • Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture and land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, and Inuktut.
  • Experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment.

Compensation & benefits: This indeterminate position is excluded from the Nunavut Employees Union and offers a salary range of $121,953 to $174,219 per annum (for 37.5 hours/week), plus a Northern Allowance of $16,008 per annum. Note: Subsidized staff housing is available.

Relevant de la directrice générale de la Division des opérations spéciales, vous serez imputable de tous les aspects du programme de pharmacie dans l'ensemble du territoire, incluant notamment la planification stratégique et tactique, l'élaboration de politiques, l'affectation des ressources ainsi que l'établissement et le maintien de normes et de procédures. À titre de directeur territorial de la pharmacie , vous serez responsable de l'établissement et du respect de toutes les politiques qui régissent la sécurité et l'efficacité des soins pharmaceutiques et de la conformité à toutes les lois et normes nationales et territoriales. Il vous faudra également superviser, surveiller et ajuster le plan stratégique territorial pour la prestation de services pharmaceutiques, afin de vous assurer que les normes les plus élevées et les meilleures pratiques sont respectées.
Dans ce poste clé, vous assurerez le redressement financier du Comité de la haute direction et du sous-ministre adjoint afin d'orienter les décisions sur les changements et la mise en œuvre efficaces des programmes, examinerez les possibilités de partenariats stratégiques susceptibles d'améliorer la gestion des finances du ministère et assurerez leur mise en œuvre. Vous devrez aussi évaluer le rendement du personnel de la division, renforcer l'esprit d'équipe, assurer le perfectionnement et veiller à ce que des mesures disciplinaires progressives soient prises au besoin.
EXIGENCES
Votre profil, en tant que directeur territorial de la pharmacie compétent, comprendra notamment:

  • Un baccalauréat ès sciences en pharmacie reconnu et un certificat du Bureau des examinateurs en pharmacie du Canada, y compris cinq (5) ans d'expérience récente en gestion de pharmacie dans un milieu de soins de courte durée.
  • Être inscrit ou être admissible à l'inscription à titre de pharmacien au Nunavut et être titulaire d'un permis d'exercice et être en règle dans une autre province ou un autre territoire.

ATOUTS:

  • Une maitrise ou un doctorat en pharmacie d'une université reconnue.
  • La maitrise d'au moins deux des langues officielles du Nunavut (soit l'inuktut, l'anglais et/ou le français).
  • La connaissance des communautés, de la culture, du rapport à la terre et du qaujimajatuqangit inuits de même que de l'inuktut.
  • Une expérience de travail dans un environnement interculturel nordique.
