New Afton Mine

Situated 10 kilometers west of Kamloops, British Columbia, the New Afton Mine is an underground gold and copper producing site.

Kamloops is a city of 90,000 people, located 350 kilometers east of Vancouver. Position Reports To: Fixed Plant Maintenance General Supervisor

Position Overview

In this role, you will model our values and leverage the collective talent of your team to safely accomplish daily and weekly objectives. Through compassionate leadership you will inspire your team to do good work, to continuously develop, and meet targets.

The Fixed Plant Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for safely leading the Fixed Plant Maintenance crews, executing the weekly schedule, and facilitating any corrective work required. The Fixed Plant Maintenance Supervisor will also work closely with all other maintenance and operations groups to ensure the interests of the business are met with exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Be a safety leader, adhere to and uphold all safety and environmental policies and procedures. Demonstrate leadership through providing clear direction and guidance of daily activities. Set clear expectations for employees and customers. Hold everyone accountable to those expectations. Address and mitigate safety/environmental risks to ensure all daily tasks are safely completed. Provide leadership on continuous safety improvement (e.g.) by performing, informing, and promoting hazard awareness, 5-point safety cards, initiation of JHA & EJHA, etc. Ensure appropriate handover documentation is completed by and for technicians. Builds a strong team environment and maximizes daily work performance. Assist with supervision of contractors who are on site executing work for the department

In addition, the successful candidate will possess:

Exemplary safety record An Inter-Provincial Red Seal Millwright OR Welder certificate 5+ years' related maintenance experience in the mining industry Demonstrated the consistent application of New Gold's Values for driving decisions and behaviors Ability to prioritize and execute a dynamic schedule while showcasing a positive and proactive attitude towards changing business needs Must have exceptional organization skills Advanced knowledge and troubleshooting skills Experience in coordinating jobs, equipment, and timelines between departments Advanced knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office Suite is considered an asset

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position will be between $125,000 to $135,000. A comprehensive benefits program and performance bonus plan will also be provided. This is not a camp operation and therefore the successful candidate will be required to relocate to the Kamloops area or travel and accommodation will be the responsibility of the successful applicant.
