Toronto, Ontario, Canada Child Development Institute Full time

Children are at the front and centre of what we do; they are the foundation of our purpose and the basis for our evidence-driven strategy.

Our mission is to transform the lives of children, youth and their families by developing and delivering innovative, research-based mental health and early learning programs.

At the Child Development Institute (CDI), we are passionate about helping our communities' most vulnerable members and their caregivers.

Joining us now is a rewarding opportunity to be part of an organization that is built on a legacy of more than 100 years of helping children and families.

Recognized as a leader and model for measurement-based impact, we are client-centred, family-centred, and data-informed.

We are a place where professionals grounded in mental health, care, and well-being of infants, children and youth, come together in collaboration, learning and inclusion.

As a multiservice organization delivering social, emotional, and behavioural counselling services, early childhood education, learning disabilities and mental health services, and family violence services, we address the whole person from when they begin their life.

Every child and family that reaches out to us is unique, and we value and embrace their individuality. With their trust in us, we guide children and families along a supportive journey. It is an often difficult path and simultaneously the most rewarding experience for providers, children and families.

Reporting to the Human Resources Business Partner, we are seeking a Human Resources Generalist for a 12-month contract to play a critical role focused on supporting the growth of our team, in a combined unionized and non-unionized environment.

As our new HR Generalist your key focus will include recruitment and selection, onboarding and off-boarding, HR record management, and HR administration.

This is an onsite in-office role.

You may currently be an HR Coordinator looking to progress your career or a Talent Acquisition Coordinator looking to make the move into a Generalist HR role.

You are an open and flexible communicator, able to work across all levels of teams.

We are a nonprofit organization that supports the most vulnerable members of our communities across a diverse range of backgrounds.

This is a chance to bring your HR process and administrative knowledge to build and support our teams so they can support their clients.

It's an opportunity to bridge recruitment and HR generalist responsibilities, accessing training across the function, including payroll. Support and coordinate the end-to-end recruitment process.

You will execute and optimize our agency-wide talent acquisition process to ensure that we are hiring within approved parameters and in adherence to agency policy and collective agreements.

You will update recruitment activities regularly per department procedure to meet goals.

In addition, you will assist with the Performance Review process (annual, probationary) and yearly policy review and ensure compliance with employment-related legislation and practices.

You will partner with our Talent Acquisition team or work in tandem with internal staff to execute strategic recruitment solutions to meet all recruiting goals.

Support HR.

You will play an active role in fostering our positive and collaborative working environment, supporting leaders and staff in interpreting and administering organizational policies, procedures, and programs.

In addition, you will work collaboratively with the team wherever needed, from administrative tasks to payroll to assisting in developing and implementing policies and procedures.

You will participate in continuous quality improvement processes and assist the Human Resources department with research and development of best practices.

You have exposure to the end-to-end recruitment process. The technical skills. You have proficiency with MS Office suite (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint). Experience working with Dayforce as an HRIS would be an asset.

You are a dedicated and flexible team player who can interact with team members and colleagues at all levels of the organization.

As a condition of employment, you must provide updated COVID vaccinations in compliance with the CDI Mandatory Vaccination Policy.

Fostering positive transformations in mental health for over a century, CDI is a world-class leader trusted in helping children, youth and families through a wide range of evidence-informed services to build lasting change.

Flexible hours in a planned program environment.

If you want to be part of our vision to make a measurable lifelong impact on the mental health and well-being of children, youth and their families, join us.
