As the Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis you will be responsible for the execution of financial planning and analysis activities. As a key strategic partner, you will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, variance reporting and analysis of operating costs. Your role will be to proactively partner with the business to understand the link between operational and financial results, provide business insights, and be a key financial partner.

A typical day would involve:

  • Support the identification and investigation of monthly and quarterly variances to budget and forecast, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and potential risks.
  • Support in the preparation of reports and analysis at month and quarter end to communicate financial results.
  • Provide support through the strategic planning, annual operating budget, and forecasting processes.
  • Create and maintain financial models and dashboards to help explain financial performance.
  • Participate in crossfunctional initiatives and ad hoc projects to provide financial analysis for decision support.
  • Proactively seeking opportunities to improve processes and forecasting accuracy.
  • Using technology solutions to your advantage.

You have:

  • University degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or other related discipline.
  • 3+ years of progressive finance, financial analysis, and reporting experience
  • Strong financial background, and expert knowledge of Excel is required. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and Power BI is considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical, modelling, and problemsolving skills.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and can collaborate with individuals across divisions.
  • Keen ability to distill and summarize large and complex data sets in a simple and concise way and present it clearly without losing sight of the big picture.
