Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Undergraduate Degree in International Development, Education, or related field in Social Sciences
  • Master's Degree in International Development, Education, or related field in Social Sciences is preferred

Experience:

  • 3 years of related experience working with students and international programs
  • Previous international work, study, volunteer or crosscultural experience
  • Ability to speak, read and write in a second language is preferred
  • Previous experience in a University environment working with students preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of postsecondary programs, protocols and processes, particularly as they relate to admissions, course credit transfer and student registration in an international context
  • Highly developed cross cultural knowledge and understanding of intercultural considerations and cultural adjustment process. Proven ability to assess issues promptly, intervene and problem solve to support a positive student experience
  • Demonstrated experience delivering risk management, predeparture and re entry programming, presentations and training sessions
  • Intermediate understanding of immigration procedures for incoming and outgoing students
  • Ability to effectively manage social media platforms, communication and engagement for student populations
  • Demonstrated strong customer service orientation to handle enquiries and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner
  • Proven strong ability to assess the needs and expectations of a diverse clientele, advise students, make referrals.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with strict and conflicting deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Strong relationship management, influencing and collaboration skills with proven ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to respond effectively to high stress, crisis or emergency situations dealing with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to manage volunteers and implement training programs
  • Proven ability to evaluate programs and implement necessary changes
  • Intermediate level of experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), web design software such as Cascade, Database and CRM experience (PeopleSoft and Symplicy/Horizons preferred)
