YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

  • The heavy equipment operator is responsible for operating Paradox/Stratum's heavy equipment in a safe and competent manner. The heavy equipment operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Heavy equipment may include rock trucks, frontend loaders, dozers, graders and other pieces of equipment. They must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by legislation, policies and procedures.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES & IMPACT:

  • Competently operate the heavy equipment to load and unload equipment and move material.
  • Understand the load and work limits of the equipment model being operated.
  • Perform pretrip inspections, daily safety and maintenance checks and action items accordingly (lubricate, grease, etc.).
  • Advise the Supervisor of any requirements for maintenance or repair required.
  • Identify and adapt to needs, deficiencies, and changes in the work plan and/or schedule.
  • Ensure equipment is always clean and complete routine maintenance is performed.
  • Ensure the equipment is safely and securely stored upon completion of use.
  • Work in adherence to safe work practices, procedures and work site or traffic laws.
  • Complete in a timely manner all required paperwork and submit to appropriate parties.
  • Report all incidents and near misses to the Supervisor immediately.
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury and/or property damage.
  • General site and housekeeping.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and a clean drivers Abstract
  • 35 years experience operating Heavy Equipment.
  • Equipment training (Excavator, Loader, Grader, etc).
  • Valid First Aid, CSTS, PCST, H2S, Ground Disturbance and OSSA certifications.
  • Be able to work independently while adhering to and maintaining a work schedule.
  • Be prepared to work in all weather conditions.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Successfully pass a drug and alcohol test and health assessment including a 50 lb. fitness to work test.
