Job Purpose

Duties and Responsibilities

Perform Complete Analysis of Small Business and Complex RESL Lending Applications

  • Complete indepth loan analysis/underwriting for assigned deals supported by appropriate due diligence and a wellrationalized recommendation and complete the appropriate Loan Application for decision by Adjudication OR Loan Committee review and approval.
  • Work closely with Branches to obtain all relevant information required to complete indepth loan analysis in conjunction with factors contributing to the credibility and all types of potential risks of the assigned deals (e.g. income documents, credit reports, rent rolls, financial statements, invoices, property management contracts, leases, appraisals, environmental site assessments, building condition assessments, etc.)
  • Review credit packages prior to submission for policy compliance, structural soundness and credit worthiness.
  • Perform indepth due diligence and reviews on collateral such as appraisals, branch property inspection reports, environmental assessments and building condition assessments and opine on any issues.
  • Evaluating customers' credit data and financial statements and identify exceptions to policy in order to determine the degree of risk to make sound credit decisions in line with Bank's Risk Appetite Statement
  • Take a solution focused approach to underwriting by offering alternative structures and/or funding conditions as appropriate.
  • Perform periodic credit reviews for all Small Business Borrowers and ensure that financial statements and other required documents are received in a timely manner.
  • Monitor all financial covenants in accordance with the credit agreement.
  • Follow up and help resolve any loan funding or asset management issues.
  • Work with Marketing, Adjudication/Loan Committee and the Branch to ensure smooth process to finalize documentation and funding of Approved Credits.

Perform Risk Assessment

  • Protect the Bank's assets and maintain portfolio quality by adhering to the Bank's Lending processes, policies & procedures, legal and ethical requirements and regulations, audit requirements, and established risk guidelines. Ensure all business is in conformity with Bank Policies and prescribed guidelines.
  • Manage risk and minimize losses through monitoring and control reports, ensuring compliance requirements, audits, and verifications are completed in accordance with Bank Policies & Procedures and all legal, regulatory and ethical requirements.
  • Maintain uptodate knowledge and understanding of products, processes, and relevant legal, regulatory and technology requirements through audits and quality checks, to ensure decisions are adequately documented, and clearly communicated.
  • Research and maintain records relating to market conditions (e.g. vacancy rates, rental rates, cap rates, property values).
  • Communicate effectively with Marketing, Adjudication/Loan Committee and Branches in order to maintain strong customer relationship with a focus on the credit quality & growth of the bank's loan portfolio.

Other assigned duties

  • Demonstrate team spirit and work closely with team members and all business partners
  • Perform Credit Renewals to ensure that the loan qualify and the repayment capacity is ongoing and no sign of deterioration, and if exist, take necessary actions to protect the Bank.
  • Perform all other administrative duties pertaining to Credit Lending and Reporting as and when required
  • Other relevant duties as assigned

Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field of study
