Follow us on LinkedIn*****: Reporting to the Director, Production Operations, the Manufacturing Supervisor will be responsible for leading the production of high-quality electronic products. While also working closely with the Maintenance Supervisor with shared resources and inventory, as well as complimenting each other's responsibilities.

This position is located in-office in Kelowna. Frequent travel to Victoria is required up to March 2024 for training purposes.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Working closely with all internal stakeholders to support shipment of the highest quality product in the most efficient time
  • Ensuring customer expectations for quality and delivery are met
  • Ensuring SKYTRAC Quality Management procedures are followed diligently
  • Monitoring and maintaining set quality KPIs
  • Ensuring the Canadian Aviation Regulations are followed
  • Quoting sales deliveries for existing products
  • Processing Sales Order approvals and shipment scheduling as per the agreed to shipment date
  • Employee supervision, guidance and mentoring including performance reviews, annual goals, holiday and time sheet approvals
  • Ensuring employees have proper training and tools to support their tasks
  • Keeping up to date with latest practices and regulations
  • Providing Customer support as required
  • Oversight and interface with contract manufacturers for outsourced products
  • Product inventory control and purchase approvals
  • Existing product engineering change reviews and approvals
  • Maintaining production equipment through preventive maintenance and calibration schedules
  • Ensuring Product Builds are set up for proper part tracking, traveler tracking, and inventory deductions as required

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent computer skills;
  • Proficient in MS Office;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Highly organized with attention to detail;
  • Ability to achieve objectives within appropriate timescales;
  • Strong aptitude for learning new information technologies;
  • Selfstarter with a commitment to continuous improvement.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Electronic Technologist or Technician diploma or equivalent advanced education
  • 5 years' experience in a Manufacturing role
  • Experience with satellite communications
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations
  • Knowledge of Aviation quality standards, such as AS9100;
  • Management or supervision experience would be a strong asset;
  • Experience with IPC610, J-STD001, IPC/WHMA620 or similar standards
  • Familiarity with the Iridium network an asset
