MedCare Health System is seeking a part-time Bookkeeper who will be responsible for performing duties such as recording, posting and processing day-to-day transactions.

The incumbent will process accounts receivable, accounts payable, as well as maintain and update accounting records for various organizations. This position will be based in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Job Duties

  • Factchecking accounting information
  • Ensure receivables are collected promptly
  • Recording all transactions
  • Disseminating reports to staff
  • Balancing subsidiary accounts to reconcile accounts
  • Ensuring all financial actions comply with local legal requirements
  • Preparing financial reports by analyzing, collecting, and condensing account trends and information
  • Using a system to account for the financial transactions made by the company to establish a chart of accounts
  • Oversee the financial well being of the organization

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working as a bookkeeper
  • Proficient with Office 365 (Excel, Word)
  • Proficient with bookkeeping software (QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online)
  • Great interpersonal skills that enable the Bookkeeper to clearly and effectively communicate with other employees
  • The ability to work on multiple projects while adhering to tight deadlines
  • The ability to communicate complex financial data with other members
  • Excellent data entry and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with the general principles of accounting
  • A strong understanding of math and numbers
  • The ability to use various financial transactions such as accounts payable and accounts receivable

Pay:
From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours:
per week

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Experience:

  • QuickBooks: 1 year (preferred)
  • Account reconciliation: 1 year (preferred)
  • Accounting: 1 year (preferred)
