Position Overview: Accounting Clerk

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school education
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years in a similar role

  • Work Schedule: 35 to 40 hours weekly
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and issue payroll cheques
  • Assess fixed assets and calculate depreciation
  • Maintain and balance various accounts using both manual and computerized bookkeeping methods
  • Oversee general ledgers and financial statements
  • Record journal entries accurately
  • Compile statistical, financial, and accounting reports
  • Complete tax return documentation
  • Generate trial balances
  • Reconcile financial accounts
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • Familiar with MS Word
  • Experienced with spreadsheet applications
