COMPANY OVERVIEW & JOB DESCRIPTION Established in 1965, Colt Automation is recognized as an innovator in the design, development, and manufacturing of Coil Processing & Feed Equipment for: stampers, fabricators, and a variety of manufacturers (automotive, appliance, batteries and many more).
A Colt feed line processes sheet metal coils (unwinds, flattens, feeds, etc.) Many components are automated for production efficiency, consistency and safety with the Colt "controls package" being known as one of the best in the industry.
Therefore, Colt Automation is looking a Controls Engineer who can execute or exceed those high standards maintaining our competitive advantage.
You'll provide technical support to external customers and work internally with other members of the Colt team (ie. Mechanical Engineers, Purchasing Dept, Assembly & Install crew, etc. Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design, including electrical requirements, safety standards, PLC and servo controls.*Please note, we are looking for an experienced Controls Engineer who can hit the ground running. Our Senior Controls Engineer can provide guidance/assistance but we are not looking to train someone from the ground up.
Office building/manufacturing facility in Mississauga, ON
College / University in Electrical Engineering and or relevant education and experience
~ Previous experience in a plant environment is an asset
~7+ years' experience in similar roles, preferable in the heavy equipment industry
~ Proficient in electrical design, automation controls and sequential programming
~ Experience with scalable hardware architecture and open software architecture for custom programming
~ Must be able to travel to US & Canadian based customers when required (installation or service calls)
