To Develop A Comprehensive Training Curriculum

PREAMBLE:

This RFP outlines the terms of reference, the scope of work and agreement terms to engage a consultant in a project to accomplish the following deliverables:

  • Development of a comprehensive Training Curriculum including resource materials and related tools for interactive learning and practice. This Training Curriculum is to facilitate a new AHC series of Intercultural Competency Training Program, designed to support Alberta Employers, in the process of hiring, retaining, and advancing newcomers in jobs and careers that leads to successful integration into Alberta's workforce.


Action for Healthy Communities (AHC) is seeking to engage a consultant to develop an interactive experiential focused curriculum including informative resource materials and related tools that will be used in delivering AHC's new series of employer focused training designed to support the integration of low to highly skilled newcomers into the workforce.


This new AHC training series targets to foster effective intercultural knowledge and skills enhancements and DEI through the lens of both employers and newcomers navigating workforce integration needs.

Designed for support for employers in the construction, hospitality, and healthcare industries, this training series will be tailored primarily to equip employers with tools to implement effective hiring, retention, and job growth practices to continue to advance DEI within the workplace, to support successful integration of newcomers into the workforce In complement to the employer training, intercultural knowledge and skills enhancements will also be sought to supplement existing job readiness training AHC offers to newcomer job seekers to prepare them for job placements in these identified industries.

TERMS & CONDITIONS:

Action for Healthy Communities (AHC) will negotiate contract terms upon selection, and a project contract will be awarded upon signing of an agreement, which outlines terms, timeline, scope, budget, and other necessary items

As a results:

  • AHC reserves the right to reject proposals, reject portions of any proposal, or accept the proposal deemed most advantageous to the organization.
  • Confidentiality of the proposal content must be maintained throughout the process.
  • All costs incurred in the preparation and presentation of the RFP shall be entirely covered by the applicant.
  • All documents submitted will become the property of AHC.

PROPOSAL SUBMISSION:

Your proposal must include a narrative and a cost proposal for the project scope described below.

All costs associated with the delivery of the project should be presented at a flat rate, fee for service format.

RFP'S PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

**AHC Program Area issuing the RFP: This RFP is issued under the AHC Strategic Workforce Integration and Entrepreneurship Program - Employment Programs & Supports Unit.

Background:


Action for Healthy Communities (AHC) is funded by the Government of Canada, Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), and other funders to provide pre-employment readiness programs and workforce integration support for newcomers to Canada.

These funded supports are aimed at helping newcomers to Canada prepare for securing low and mid-advanced (skilled) jobs, career advancement and long-term integration in meaningful careers in the Canadian workforce.

The development of the AHC intercultural competency curriculum project for the delivery of the afore described tailored trainings for Alberta employers and the complementary tools for newcomer job seekers will be curated with considerations on the following approach:

  • Active consultation with newcomers and stakeholders such as employers and regulatory bodies, and other local employment-support organizations to collaborate on identifying knowledge and skills gaps and addressing the employment-related needs of newcomers to Canada to support their successful integration into the workforce.
  • Collaborate to cocreate training tools designed to foster effective intercultural knowledge and skills enhancements and DEI through the lens of both employers and newcomers.
  • Curriculum refinement with input/feedback gathered during a pilot run of the employer training and the "TraintheTrainer" newcomer work placement model.
