HR Manager

The HR Manager provides a comprehensive range of HR support to a national Audit line of business (LOB).

This position is responsible for making effective recommendations and executing high-quality, impactful solutions while partnering with leaders in the locations, LOB, members of the regional HR team and the National Talent Team.

This hybrid role can be based in Calgary, Edmonton or Toronto.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute on core HR processes including performance management, talent management, talent acquisition, learning and professional development, and employee/partner engagement.
  • Collaborate and provide guidance to leaders on talent development and growth, in alignment with business priorities.

Identify and develop talent management plans at a local level (e.g., location, small service line) ensuring alignment with national strategy.


  • Coach and advise on performance management; draft and deliver related documentation and reports accordingly.
Manage investigations in partnership with Employee Relations.

  • Analyze data for trends or themes and provide insights/recommendations based on findings in support of talentrelated decisions or initiatives.
  • Manage talent review and roundtable meetings including promotion recommendations; share insights and data information, ensuring accuracy and alignment
  • Educate and advise leaders on compensation objectives, bonus programs, and applicable regulations.
  • Deliver previously developed presentations and create ad hoc presentations for LOB groups
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition on hiring processes, including campus hire onboarding events and regional New Hire Orientation.
  • Identify areas for operational and performance improvement.
  • Participate in or support other HR related initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in human resources, including a business partnering role
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to identify complex patterns of risk & liability, challenge and resolve issues, makes effective recommendation on course of action, and understand when to escalate complex issues
  • Business acumen and understanding of industry and partnership model; previous professional services experience preferred
  • Understanding of compensation philosophy and principles
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to use data/metrics to develop solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to respond positively to changing circumstances, seek and implement change to drive business improvement; serve as a change agent
  • Operates with a sense of urgency
  • Bilingualism an asset
