Environmental & Technical Manager

ERCO Worldwide has over 125-year history of producing chemicals and a long history of supplying environmentally preferred chlorine dioxide technology to the pulp and paper industry. ERCO Worldwide's chloralkali business serves a variety of industries including municipal and industrial water treatment, food processing, fertilizers, agricultural intermediates, and oil and gas. Job Summary:

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Environmental & Technical Manager leads the site's environmental management system requirements, ensures regulatory compliance, and coordinates plant improvement projects. He/ She provides technical support, process, and project engineering to plant operations to ensure efficient, safe, & environmentally secure plant operations (utilization of all assets, minimize production costs). Major Duties & Responsibilities:

Monitor relevant regulations to ensure compliance to all levels of regulatory requirements. Manage relationships with governmental entities with respect to compliance management and reporting, Develop, maintain, and implement site environmental plans, policies, procedures, and promote continuous improvement of these internal standards. Assist in identifying and implementing plant capital projects. Create and maintain high performing Environmental, Laboratory and Engineering teams through individual development, performance management and effective leadership. Supervise 3 Laboratory-process technicians. Develop and implement site environmental training programs, and ensure that the site employees, contractors, and visitors are trained in these standards as required. Lead and support incident investigations prepared by site responsible departments by analyzing incidents to identify root causes and areas of concern, and conduct trending analysis to promote continuous improvement. Preparation of Annual, Quarterly, Monthly environmental and regulatory compliance reporting. Promote good environmental and engineering practices throughout the site and share practices throughout the company.

Key Attributes:

Minimum 8 years of manufacturing/environmental experience Bachelor's degree in chemical or Process Engineering or equivalent Proven track record of process safety and environmental team leadership, and governmental regulator relationship management Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, to promote employee engagement and ensure effective internal and external reporting. Ability to monitor and interpret the potential impact of process safety and environmental regulatory trends (local, national, and global) on the business. Strong analytical skills (problem solving, incident investigation, data analysis) to help in decision-making and judgments. RCRA experience and knowledge of the administration and reporting requirements for compliance is an asset. Auditing experience in environment, process safety or quality would be an asset. Occasional travel as the role requires. Bilingual (French and English)

Relevant directement du directeur de l'usine, le directeur technique et environnement dirige les exigences du système de gestion environnementale du site, assure la conformité réglementaire et coordonne les projets d'amélioration de l'usine. Il/Elle fournit un soutien technique, une ingénierie de processus et de projet aux opérations de l'usine afin de garantir des opérations de l'usine efficaces, sécuritaires et respectueuses de l'environnement (utilisation de tous les actifs, minimiser les coûts de production). Principales tâches et responsabilités:

Surveiller les réglementations pertinentes pour garantir la conformité à tous les niveaux d'exigences réglementaires. Gérer les relations avec les entités gouvernementales en ce qui concerne la gestion de la conformité et le reporting, Développer, maintenir et mettre en œuvre des plans, des politiques et des procédures environnementales du site et promouvoir l'amélioration continue de ces normes internes. Superviser le programme de gestion de la sécurité des processus (PSM) de l'usine. Aider à identifier et à mettre en œuvre des projets d'immobilisations d'usine. Créer et maintenir des équipes environnementales, de laboratoire et d'ingénierie hautement performantes grâce au développement individuel, à la gestion des performances et à un leadership efficace. Superviser les 3 techniciens de procédés de laboratoire Développer et mettre en œuvre des programmes de formation environnementale du site et s'assurer que les employés du site, les entrepreneurs et les visiteurs sont formés à ces normes, selon les besoins. Diriger et soutenir les enquêtes sur les incidents préparées par les départements responsables du site en analysant les incidents pour identifier les causes profondes et les domaines de préoccupation, et effectuer une analyse des tendances pour promouvoir l'amélioration continue. Préparation des rapports annuels, trimestriels et mensuels de conformité environnementale et réglementaire Promouvoir les bonnes pratiques environnementales et d'ingénierie sur l'ensemble du site et partager les pratiques dans toute l'entreprise

Attributs clés:
