JOB SUMMARY:


HDD Oakville is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our team, who has established carpentry experience and is proud to share a portfolio of past work.

Our Carpenters build custom decks, gazebos and other structures based off of supplied plans and materials.

Working with HDD will allow you the opportunity to work outdoors with a great team and work on a variety of challenging, unique and creative deck projects.

In addition to an excellent knowledge and skill-set in framing and decking/building installation, our Carpenters have superior customer service skills, a strong work ethic, hold a high standard of workmanship, and have the ability and confidence to lead a building crew.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build custom decks and structures, according to provided building plans; including teardowns, framing, deck and rail construction, gazebos, roof construction, etc.
  • Provide support through various hands on construction and site tasks while working with various hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Provide professional and courteous interaction and communication with homeowner, managers and subcontractors throughout the job
  • Maintain a clean work site
  • Compliance with company health and safety training and reporting requirements
  • Other duties will be assigned as required

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 35 years of construction/carpentry experience
  • Ability to skillfully use hand and power woodworking tools
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings for each job
  • Strong attention to detail with precise measuring and cutting skills
  • Ability to work independently while following instructions
  • Excellent team player with great leadership qualities
  • Strong time management, organizational and problemsolving skills
  • Must be enthusiastic, selfmotivated, detail oriented and have a willing to learn
  • Must be reliable, punctual and personable
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Required to work outdoors in residential neighbourhoods, in a variety of weather conditions

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for own transportation to and from job sites all located in Oakville
  • Responsible for providing own basic personal hand and power tools
  • Language: English (required)
