Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview:


Manitoba's health system is currently in transition with planning and changes aimed at improving the quality, accessibility, and efficiency of health care services throughout Manitoba.

MATC contributes to the mental health and well-being of children and youth across the Province. As part of the health system transformation MATC will be transitioning to Shared Health.

This is an exciting opportunity to be on the ground floor of building and supporting a new vision of integrated Mental Health and Addictions services.


Reporting to the MATC Chief Executive Officer, the Program Manager is responsible for providing leadership to the Neurodevelopment Service (NDS), and Tourette's Syndrome Service (TSS).

The incumbent is responsible for service delivery components, along with interfacing with the broader Child and Adolescent Mental Health system within the province and other systems providing services to children and youth with Neurodevelopmental Disorders.


In addition, responsibilities include redirections to external resources, liaising with the community regarding mental-health related services and requests for service, the facilitation of communication within the program and between programs, the facilitation of program development and clinical pathways, the process of program staffing and the establishment of professional working relationships with the multidisciplinary team and community.

The functions are undertaken consistent with the Manitoba Adolescent Treatment Centre's established philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures.

Experience:

  • 35 years supervisory/management experience within a health care setting
  • Knowledge and experience working with persons having Neurodevelopmental challenges is an asset
  • Experience within Child and Youth Mental Health service delivery is an asset

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):

  • Formal preparation or training in a health care related field at a degree level (Nursing, Social Services, etc.) and eligible for current professional registration as applicable
  • Graduation from a Universitybased program relevant to health care administration (Masters level preferred)

Certification/Licensure/Registration:

  • Staff not licensed/registered with a legislated professional body must be registered/certified with an appropriate Association

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong leadership skills to provide leadership to NDS and TSS
  • Demonstrated ability to manage change within the programs, staff, and systems
  • Ability to monitor, implement, and facilitate timely and seamless service delivery within an interprofessional team
  • Knowledge and skills to facilitate program development and promote the goals and objectives of the services and organization
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with clinical knowledge to provide consultation to stakeholders, other systems and agencies in relation to treatment and service needs.
  • Supervisory skills to ensure roles, functions and team goals are consistent with MATC Services direction, and meet evidenceinformed treatment standards
  • Commitment to promote Health Equity and Reconciliation with the programs, and service delivery models, within the organization
