Reporting to the Director, Process Improvement and Innovation, Aviation Division, the Project Manager is responsible for documenting, overall planning, implementing a diverse set of projects and tasks across the Aviation Division.

This position defines project phase deliverables, tracks milestones, schedules, roles and resources, tests training and implementation plans, evaluates risks and recommends contingency plans.

The Project Manager is responsible for quality assurance, resolution of issues and compliance with all policies and procedures for project management and infrastructure administration and for ensuring project goals are achieved on time and within budget.


Role Responsibility:

SCOPE OF THE POSITION:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES, but not limited to

  • Assist in developing, monitoring, and implementing work process improvements to meet business goals by effective project development and management.
  • Work with management to define the shortterm and longterm objectives and potential gains.
  • Engages with staff to ensure that project deliverables are completed within budget and defined scope.
  • Optimize or redesign process flows to meet project requirements.
  • Maintain and update all project management related documents for reference purposes.
  • Identify and manage resources, plan, and execute process improvement projects.
  • Provide support and guidance to team when needed in relation to project management.
  • Provides consultation on the use of SOP techniques to improve process performance and product quality.
  • Train staff in process improvement techniques.
  • Monitor process performance and improvement in key metrics by designing management projects.

Formal Education, Licenses, and Certifications Required:

  • University Diploma/Degree in Business or similar field related to project management or work experience and related skills.

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required:

  • 3 or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of the Aviation sector is a strong asset.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills. Green Belt certified (or similar) an asset.
  • Must be able to secure and maintain the appropriate level of security clearance.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Efficiency in oral and written communication.
  • Proficiency With Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Promotes Health & Safety in the workplace.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of business technologies and upgrades in consultation with senior
- management and stakeholders.

  • Facilitate the definition of project scopes, timelines, goals, and deliverables as required.
  • Define project tasks, estimate resource requirements and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Plan, schedule and manage project timelines, scopes, assess and mitigate risks, and break down complex concepts into identifiable work streams.
  • Manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks and devise contingency plans.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets to ensure there are no cost or resource overruns.
  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools.
  • Able to mediate resource conflicts with tact and diplomacy while explaining urgency in maintaining schedules, deadlines, and budgets.
  • Provide direction and support to project team.
  • Provide regular progress reports to senior management.
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relations with project team, business sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project team members to identify business requirements and ensure team members are aware of risks and issues.
  • Coordinate with consultants and vendors involved in the project, monitoring their performance.
