Position Overview:


Reporting to the Senior Manager of Maintenance Operations, the Crew Chief AME plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of aircraft within Flair.

Responsible for overseeing and managing a team of Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs) and technicians, the Crew Chief provides leadership, technical guidance, and maintains high standards of maintenance quality and safety.


Primary Job Functions:

The duties of the
Crew Chief (AME) include:


  • Lead a team of AMEs and AME Apprentices by providing ongoing support, encouragement, and guidance to ensure the timely and efficient completion of assigned work
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on aircraft systems, components, and structures
  • Complete maintenance and modification tasks as assigned to maintain company aircraft
  • Ensure accurate completion of required paperwork in compliance with company ACA requirements
  • Provide support, mentorship, and development to AME and Apprentice staff to uphold high maintenance standards
  • Utilize documentation including AMM, SRM, IPC, SBs, and SLs
  • Compile and assist in reporting Service Difficulty Reports (SDRs)
  • Embrace and participate in the company's Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Ensure all tooling is current and serviceable, and documentation is up to date
  • Ensure parts used for maintenance have appropriate paperwork/trace
  • Maintain good housekeeping of company facilities and equipment, reporting any deficiencies
  • Communicate and liaise with maintenance control regarding aircraft deferrals and status
  • Maintain AME license and comply with all training requirements
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements:

- **Education**:
  • High School or GED equivalent
  • Hold a valid Transport Canada AME M2 license
  • Boeing 737, including NG and/or MAX endorsements

- **Experience**:
  • Minimum Six (6) years of directly related AME experience
  • Minimum Two (2) years of supervisory experience
  • Three (3) years of maintenance experience with an Air Carrier or AMO

- **Skills & Abilities**:
  • In
  • depth knowledge of aircraft systems, components, and maintenance procedures
  • Strong understanding of aviation regulations and industry standards (e.g., FAA, EASA, etc.)
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proven problemsolving and decisionmaking capabilities
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining highquality standards
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours and be oncall if required
  • Proficiency in computerbased maintenance software, including AMOS
  • Strong administrative, project management, and selfstarting skills
  • Demonstrated problemsolving, attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills.
  • In
termediate level of skill using Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel
