About the role
We are looking for a
Director, Claims - Investigative Services to join our team

What you'll do here:

  • Work with the ISU leadership team, to develop solutions utilizing our various fraud tools to reduce the organization's exposure to fraud losses, improve fraud controls, and provide information for other ancillary purposes.
  • Manage highly sensitive investigations involving multiple stakeholder interests including other regulatory and investigative authorities. Liase with IBC and Crown Attorneys in preparation of physical evidence and briefing materials. Appear as witness and give evidence during trials. Ensure investigations are objective, fair, thorough, unbiased and timely.
  • Provide leadership to a team of fraud investigators and manage daytoday administrative matters, overseeing individual training and skills improvement programs.
  • Manage the Investigative Team by setting and monitoring goals and objectives; evaluating performance; and holding regular status meetings to keep staff informed of changes and new projects. Review metrics and report to Director and VP.
  • Maintain effective communication links with the COE's and ensure standardized IS workflow processes with the SHU teams.
  • Develop training programs to train adjusters on red flags; fraud procedures; and protocol.
  • Recruit qualified employees. Provide and coordinate training, coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities.
  • Direct resources within budget allocation and ensure adherence to corporate policies and standards.
  • Manage leaders who are working in multiline business units (Accident Benefits claims, Auto damage claims, Property claims, Bodily Injury claims).
  • Develop and present fraud trends and actions to key stakeholders and executives in the organization and other external stakeholders

What you bring to the table:

  • University degree/college diploma preferred or equivalent business experience
  • Working knowledge of AB and BI claims handling procedures
  • Knowledge of Auto and Home policy conditions and exclusions
  • Experience with fraud investigation protocols or prosecution
  • 10 years' experience at supervisory level or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of staff
  • Proven leadership skills, excellent communication skills and a track record of inspiring teams through change
  • Superior problem solving and analytical skills, balanced with strong decisionmaking abilities
  • Ability to influence at all management levels both within and outside the organization.
  • Proven success in leading and inspiring others through vision and values
  • Superior skills in negotiating, gaining commitment and building strategic relationships
  • Sense of urgency, tenacity and willingness to manage a changing schedule due to unpredictable events
  • Positive attitude while adapting to changing priorities and taking ownership of work
  • Strategic thinker and solutionsoriented
