What you'll do

  • We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Communications Coordinator to support the execution of marketing and communications strategies that build profile and strengthen the brand of BC Children's Hospital Foundation. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering key marketing initiatives for the Foundation that will support its fundraising goals. You will hold an interesting and varied portfolio. As an experienced communications professional, you will spend a significant amount of your time managing and supporting strategic, compelling, and customized communications and marketing initiatives to enhance donor retention, stewardship, engagement and growth. Additionally, you will serve as a liaison with patient families who work with us on these initiatives and will be responsible for project and administrative support for our patient family portfolio.
  • Reporting to the Manager, Communications, you will work closely with crossfunctional Foundation teams and the entire Brand Strategy Team to support and lead marketing initiatives for annual fundraising campaigns, events, and brand initiatives. With opportunities to grow, this is an exciting role within a fastpaced, crossfunctional organization requiring experience in project management.
  • More specifically, your responsibilities will include:

Communications Support:

  • Work collaboratively with the marketing & communications team, coordinating projects supporting the Foundation's communications and marketing needs from start to finish, including, but not limited to lotteries, donor touchpoints and donor event communications.
  • Working with the marketing & communications team to craft and edit inspiring written content for crossplatform campaigns under the new _Small is Mighty_ brand platform.
  • Work with the marketing & communications specialist to identify and coordinate story assets for upcoming PR/Media campaigns and news releases.
  • Developing and maintaining production timelines and work back plans, and liaising with designers and other team members, to support the timely development of collateral and other design outputs.
  • Providing communications support where needed in areas such as writing, storytelling and media relations.
  • Working collaboratively with crossfunctional teams including donor relations, events, philanthropy teams and others to ensure success through alignment in goals, strategy, messaging and approach.
  • Tracking and measuring the effectiveness of donor marketing and communications initiatives and prepare wrapup reports.

Social Media Coordination:

  • Work with our social media strategist and design teams to develop engaging and highquality content for social media platforms
  • Support with maintaining social media accounts, including scheduling and publishing posts, monitoring engagement, and responding to comments and messages in a timely and professional manner.
  • Share creative ideas for posts that are uptodate with the latest social media trends.
  • Track and analyze key social media metrics and performance indicators to evaluate content effectiveness.
  • Work closely with crossfunctional teams, including marketing, design, and client teams, to gather content requirements, obtain feedback, and align content creation with overall marketing initiatives.

Patient Family Liaison:

  • Support in identifying, recruiting and cultivating a network of patient families for ongoing spokesperson and content development needs, as well as participating in various Foundation initiatives.
  • Coordinating and responding to requests from Foundation teams seeking involvement of patient families in fundraising and stewardship activities.
  • Supporting consistency in the Foundation's brand and key messages by ensuring patient families and hospital staff are briefed on Foundation messaging prior to speaking engagements.
