OUTREACH WORKER (Cluster-Living)

MBS Residence is currently looking for a full-time, experienced, and dedicated
Outreach Worker to work primarily with female clients who require support both in the home and out in the community.

This particular position would be required to work the following shifts:

  • Wednesdays 4PM to 8PM
  • Thursday 8AM to 8PM
  • Friday 8AM to 8PM
  • Saturday 8AM to 8PM

Applicants must have a VALID MANITOBA DRIVER'S LICENSE AND ACCESS TO A RELIABLE VEHICLE to transport clients to various outings and/or appointments in the community

Maitland B. Steinkopf (MBS) Residence operates residential facilities for persons living with disabilities, while also providing a community-outreach program geared towards supporting individuals living within their own homes.
MBS Residence strives to provide respectful, compassionate, individual-centered care fostering an atmosphere of dignity and inclusiveness.

Outreach Workers are responsible for the day-to-day requirements of each of their assigned clients and ensure that the individual's needs, safety, and well-being are at the forefront of all endeavors, while building a relationship of trust.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the individual with necessary life skills where required and encourage independent participation as much as possible
  • May be required to assist with clinical appointments, client's family services, transportation, etc.
  • Provide personal care to client as directed by Manager which may include bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, etc.
  • Prepare and provide meals to the individuals, while also supervising this activity
  • Keep accurate records of client's cash in your possession
  • Ensure that homes provide a comfortable and pleasant environment for all personnel (including basic upkeep and cleanliness of home, laundry, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Able to manage a 12 hour shift.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School graduation certification required
  • Postsecondary education regarding health care aide or within a similar discipline are an asset
  • Experience in areas such as respite work, inhome care, personal intensive care and food preparation are an asset
  • Must be able to drive and produce a clean driving record
  • Other relevant training will be provided

This position requires all applicants to have a clear and current Criminal Record check, Child Abuse Registry check, and Adult Abuse Registry check; they must be less than 3 months old._

WHAT WE OFFER:

From $15.11 per hour
