Job Description

The Opportunity

This position is part of the marketing department of Manulife Investment Management, the global brand for the global wealth and asset management division of Manulife Financial Corporation. Our goal is to simplify decisions and improve lives by empowering investors for a brighter future. Serving over 17 million individuals, institutions, and retirement plan members, Manulife Investment Management offers investment solutions covering equities, fixed income, multi-asset, and private markets investments through various vehicles such as mutual funds, ETFs, and separately managed accounts.

The Global Head of Content, Institutional holds a critical leadership role responsible for developing and executing the content strategy for Manulife Investment Management's institutional business. This role involves leading a team of writers and overseeing the research and writing on various investment topics for marketing, sales, and business initiatives.

The ideal candidate should have experience creating content on equities, fixed income, real assets, private credit, and/or private equity tailored to institutional clients like insurers, sovereign wealth funds, pensions, and banks. Content formats may include thought leadership pieces, digital content, keynote speeches, social media posts, ads, and more.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with multiple teams across the organization to fulfill assignments
  • Write compelling arguments supported by evidence
  • Prepare drafts for various types of assignments, both short and long form
  • Create content for websites, social media, ads, video scripts, presentations, and more
  • Conduct independent research to support written work
  • Maintain the firm's brand voice across all written communications
  • Utilize various technologies to collaborate, write, and publish in a digital work environment
  • Foster strong relationships with portfolio teams and internal partners

What are we looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 10+ years of investment writing experience preferred
  • Experience in asset management, industry-related news, or industry research essential
  • Deep understanding of global financial markets and asset categories, especially private markets and fixed income
  • Passion for the asset management industry and strong curiosity
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Advanced degrees and industry certifications a plus
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with portfolio teams and executives

The annual base salary for this role is provided below.

Primary Location

Boston, Massachusetts

Expected Salary Range

$114,975.00 USD - $206,955.00 USD

If applying outside the primary location, please inquire about the salary range for your region. Actual salary will be based on local market conditions, geography, and job-related factors. Employees may also participate in incentive programs tied to performance.
