The SST WIL Coordinator oversees all Work Integrated Learning (WIL) activities in the School. This includes all programs with any form of current and future WIL.

The purpose of this work is to improve holistic student success at NAIT, and ultimately, student success in the workplace.

By building relationships with students, employers/industry representatives, and NAIT staff, the incumbent of this position works with the current WIL model(s) and takes a leadership role in WIL in alignment with the NAIT and the School goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop connections, respond to questions, and maintain relationships with employers for WIL opportunities.
  • Assist employers in the development of job postings for WIL positions.
  • Work with funding agencies to help secure funding for employers.
  • Market and promote WIL opportunities to students.
  • Facilitate opportunities for students to connect with employers.
  • Provide administrative oversight on WIL course delivery (conducted in close partnership with the instructor).
  • Monitor, maintain, and mediate student & employer experience and relationships.
  • Work with program admin to ensure all WILrelated reports and paperwork are maintained and completed in a timely manner.
  • Work to develop effective and efficient processes in SST WIL programs.
  • Assist with the development and ongoing review of WIL policies and procedures.
  • Collect and report on employer and student feedback on work terms.
  • Maintain accurate reports of WIL students and programs for statistical purposes and makes recommendations for adjustments.
  • Join and participate in program or community events.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Related Postsecondary Education (Degree, Diploma and/or Journeyperson Certificate)
  • 35 years of related experience in a coordination role
  • Experience working in a postsecondary environment is an asset
  • Experience in career development and counseling, high school liaison, and/or student recruitment, is an asset.
  • Valid Driver's license required.

Remuneration:
$2, $3,148.35 biweekly, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification - Coordinator I).

  • This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement._
