- Assesses and monitors patients' physical and psycho-social needs; identifies problems, plans, implements, documents, evaluates, and coordinates nursing care.
- Consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers and team members.
- Demonstrates continuous improvement and best practice approach in nursing.
- Provides individualized nursing care to patients with varying complexities of illnesses or injuries during diagnostic imaging and interventional procedures.
- Assesses patient health status, plans, monitors vital signs, and carries out physical assessments.
- Observes significant changes in patient's condition and intervenes as needed.
- Administers medications and performs various health care interventions specific to Medical Imaging.
- Establishes therapeutic relationships, provides emotional support, and educates patients and families.
- Anticipates and responds to critical situations during procedures.
- Maintains accurate patient records and monitors equipment for safe care requirements.
- Responds to incidents and participates in activities to optimize care delivery.
- Promotes quality management principles and contributes to research and special projects.
- Demonstrates and guides clinical tasks, provides input on professional development, and reviews progress.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Completion of a recognized high acuity specialty nursing certificate and one year of recent related interventional medical imaging experience.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate.
- Demonstrated ability in nursing practice within an interventional medical imaging setting.
- Ability to assess patient responses, manage IV therapy, and respond to emergencies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacology and patient physiological reactions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Skill in clinical techniques, CPR, and use of applicable equipment.
- Proficiency in computer skills and physical ability to perform duties.
- Ability to provide leadership, mentorship, and teach patients and families.
