This newly created leadership role is an opportunity to be both strategic and hands-on planning and executing of multiple HR functions providing leadership oversight to Payroll, Pension & Benefits, the HRIS function and our Talent Acquisition & Recruitment operations areas and our Volunteer Management program experiences.

As a leader in this space you will design efficient and effective operational people processes to foster the best talent experiences alongside an amazing group of talented people on the team.


You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through the alignment and unification of our people processes and practices through a continuous improvement mindset.

Your work will also include finding ways to incorporate our Justice, Access, Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (JAIDE) Action plan into our people, process and practices work underway.


For us, People Operations is a strategic function that focuses on putting the employee first by humanizing our processes, systems and continuously improving employee experiences through engagement, development, and retention.

What's the role all about:


You will be responsible for ensuring high performance people services and supports for employees and leaders, with a focus on the development and consistent implementation of effective people processes and our systems experience.

With our unification alignment work to bring all sites together, there is a focus on process improvement, providing recommendations for changes and improvements and the execution of change plans.


As a key member of our People Team, you will serve as a trusted advisor to the full team, providing leadership oversight and guidance.

Acts as a leader to the People Operations area and team members for Payroll, Pension, Benefits, HRIS, Recruitment Operations and Volunteer Management experience.


  • People Operations: ensures key operational functions that support our business remain optimized through a continuous improvement mindset, while balancing the service delivery commitments for employee and leader supports. Provide oversight and leadership in partnership with key team members to the Payroll, Pension and Benefits area to build out effective standard operating practices, improvement and efficiency areas as we centralize and align these essential service functions for the organization. Manages the payroll, pension and benefits functions with a focus on process improvement, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • HRIS Oversight: ensures design, delivery and administration effectiveness of our HRIS system (in ADP) in partnership with key team members. Manages the strategy around the overall systems roadmap for evaluating existing system capabilities, while ensuring current functionality and capabilities are operating seamlessly. Responsible for the development of metrics, trends and analytics required to support business and HR planning cycles.

Volunteer Management Experience:

our volunteer experience program is pivotal to our day to day operations in our organization with currently 200+ active volunteers across all our sites.

There is an emerging need to evolve and transform our volunteer program and philosophy in order to ensure we are engaging, retaining and activating our volunteer workforce effectively as a key talent strategy.

Provide leadership support to review, evolve, redefine current processes and practices related to our volunteer management programs in partnership with the operational business areas.


Other responsibilities will be included and will evolve with the JAIDE - Justice Access Inclusion Diversity and Equity action plan implementation and execution in partnership with operational area business plans.


What we're looking for:

  • Seasoned, experienced professional with demonstrated understanding of Human Resources, HRIS, HR Analytics, or Payroll Compliance Practitioner or Certified Payroll Manager.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience with a related postsecondary education or a comparable combination of experience and education in Business Management or Human Resources. A designation such PMP, HRPM, LEAN/Six Sigma, CEBS, PCP, CPM would be
