What's the ask?


Reporting to the Director, Commercial Operations, the Manager, Commercial Operations, will support the execution of the commercial lines strategy to support sales to accelerate growth in the middle market segment.


The Manager, Commercial Operations will focus on supporting sales by creating operational efficiencies, maintaining employee engagement, managing workload among direct reports and providing coaching as opportunities arise.

Also, the Manager will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on key service metrics to ensure adherence to service level agreements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and monitor service issues with carriers, including regular touch points to address and resolve
  • Provide guidance and coaching to direct reports in support of personal growth and professional development
  • Monitor and provide direction to effectively manage workload
  • Work closely with the Department Managers and Commercial Account Executives to execute strategies to support the overall service and sales goals of the company and department
  • Work closely with the Director, Commercial Operations to coordinate annual business plans to achieve success
  • Participate in the development/execution of strategic initiatives and projects as set out by the Commercial Insurance Management team
  • Complete monthly statistical analysis and reporting on key metrics for the service team.
  • Conduct quarterly review of strategic plans to ensure progress is achieved; and, where deficiencies are detected, develop strategies with various members of the commercial team to remedy the results

What does it take?

  • RIBO License is required or ability to obtain RIBO
  • Progressive and/or broad experience in commercial insurance with a minimum of 5 years' technical experience (sales, service, marketing, etc.). Prior leadership experience is an asset.
